An electrician charges $50 per hour for his time and $20 per hour for the assistant's time. On a certain job, the assistant works alone for 3 hours doing preparatory work. Then the two of them work together to complete the job.
Express the total cost of the job in terms of the hours worked by the electrician.
Use this model to determine how many hours the electrician worked if the bill for the job was $620.
