Sequence

 

Sequence: A sequence {an} is a function whose domain is the set of positive integers.

 

Terms of a sequence: The functional values a1, a2, a3, … an of  a sequence {an}are called the terms of the sequence.

 

Factorial notation: Factorial notation is “n!”.  We read it by saying “n factorial”.

It is defined for any positive integer as n * (n-1) * (n – 2) * …. * 3 * 2 * 1. 

0! is defined as 0! = 1.

Notice that n! = n * (n – 1)!
