Explanation of #24 in the Laplace Transform Table

 

#24 involves the scaling of the argument of a function by a factor c and a corresponding scaling of its transform by the reciprocal of c.

 

It says that
1) if we have to find the Laplace transform of a function which can be written as f(ct),

2) then we can get the transform of the function by scaling the Laplace transform F(s) of the function f(t) as follows:

Evaluate , and then divide the result by c.
